Bangladesh does not offer Visa on Arrival for Indian Citizens. After reading all the blogs that I did about Bangladesh Visa for Indian Citizens, I was under the impression that Indians get Visa on Arrival for Bangladesh. One only has to carry a Passport along.

- train – that runs between West Bengal (Kolkata) and Bangladesh (Khulna), weekly.

2 Learnings about Bangladesh Visa for Indian Citizens
A) there is no visa on arrival for Indian Citizens.
You can apply for it online, or go to one of the offices and do the needful. Guwahati is where I was asked to go and do the needful.
B) the possibility of different rules at different entry points.
The conversation that I was having with the man standing behind the register at the Bangladesh border was interesting. And, based on that conversation, I think that there is a possibility for different rules at different entry points. At Dawki, there wasn’t a visa on arrival, but at some other place, there might be. But I would suggest that you don’t take that risk and just apply for the Visa in advance.

Bangladesh is a beautiful country and I would love to visit it someday. Even if I couldn’t do it the first time, I will try and do it again. Only this time, I will be more prepared than last time.
Even if all I do is Backpack around the world. And, backpacking means just going with the flow, and worry too much. Even if you have to come back from the border of a country.
